Mercy

Spiritual Element 5

It is said that Mercy is the greatest spiritual element; because Mercy is, according to tradition, the chief, and the most exalted virtue of the Lord of Creation. Indeed, amongst some of the most learned religious scholars of the planet earth, the Lord is referred to as "the all merciful" and in the city of heaven, the Multiverse itself is referred to as "all merciful,” because mercy is considered to be such an essential element.

Mercy is unusual in that it has multiple crystalline forms, which may vary greatly from one another. It is among the most adaptable and evolutionary of the elements, constantly changing its apparent nature to suit surrounding circumstances.

Unlike most other elements, mercy is constantly created in new amounts by the Sun Absolute, and emanated into creation in equal measure across the heights, depths, and widths of the cosmos. It is one of the most abundant elements in the crust of the Multiverse; and it is believed that huge reservoir of it also lie at the inaccessible core. It is certain that when rifts appear in the crust of the Multiverse, Mercy is emanated in superheated jets, indicating an extraordinary abundance in the structural sub fabric of creation. Paradoxically, these jets can be so powerful they kill creatures in their path, although it is said that the death is a desirable one of unparalleled ecstasy. There have even on occasion been Mercy Cults whose members construct machines to detect such rifts, and crafts to travel to them, so that the membership can die en masse in an eruption. Needless to say, this is considered to be aberrant behavior by both Angels and Daemons, who discourage its practice wherever they can.
