Local nutrition and its molecular nature, part III
In the last essay in this series, life on earth was conceived of as a collection of many trillions of “molecules” that compose the organic body of the planet; and of each molecule as an agent created and designed by the life of the planet to help serve its inner (spiritual) and outer (physical) functions.
This likens the planet to a cell; and indeed the comparison is apt, because on all levels of the universe the same laws regarding physics, chemistry, evolution and life are applicable. What applies to molecules applies to cells; what applies to cells applies to organs, and bodies, and planets, and solar systems and galaxies. Consciousness exists throughout; it’s present from the bottom (quanta) through the top (galaxy clusters).
Where does that lead us? Back to alignment. And this is because if molecules at any level in this cosmological organism are not properly aligned with one another, disease results.
Just in case you missed it, here’s another link to the fascinating podcast article about the mitochondria in the last issue of Scientific American. It illustrates the fact that even molecules have agency; that is, they undertake actions through their own volition, and not just mechanically. (I discuss the agency of molecules at some length in Metaphysical Humanism. Free copy on request to paid subscribers.) Molecules sense one another, they form community, they align with each other in order to do their work together.
