A right alignment of inner energies draws our molecular Being into what we might call a vertical stance. A well-formed magnetic center will, gradually or otherwise, gather the molecules required for the exercise of attention, conscience, and so on over what is for correct formation a long period of time.

It takes a long time because we need to grow what are called “large crystals” in us in order to experience such higher feelings. The term is an analogy and relates in the following sense. In geology, small, fine-grained crystalline structures such as granite are formed when magmatic ore bodies cool rather quickly. In such cases smaller crystals are formed. When magmas cool slowly, however, certain sacred or finer substances (from the geological perspective, that is) crystallize much more slowly, and crystals grow commensurately larger. In geology such structures are called pegmatites. This word comes from the Greek root pēgma meaning, aptly enough, “things joined together.” And in order for inner work to develop, things within us do rather need to join together.
