While it generally lacks the subtle nuances of Bosch’s symbolism, this painting has pretty good structure and considerable vigor, effectively capturing the weird spirit of Bosch’s imagery.

The Detroit Institute of Arts has an outstanding collection capped by the masterpiece “Detroit Industry,” by Diego Rivera, which is without a doubt one of the greatest masterpieces of 20th century art.

Rivera’s work is in my opinion undervalued by the Western European art world.

Some musings from September 29.

It's quite difficult for me to bring inner work forward and not make it about me.

After all, everything that I have and all that I think and feel is somehow filtered through the molecular and cellular process of myself.

Yet that process itself doesn't belong to me; and so already even when I think of this, I’m missing something about the world at large and the nature of my presence in it.
