How can the work in its present form adopt loving kindness as a core practice?

It can’t be installed from the top down by fiat, by the direction of “authorities.” Of course one can make announcements or pronouncements or whatnot; but what of that? Announcements and pronouncements are just words; they’re likely, by way of your average irony, to inspire the opposite of loving kindness in some people. The perverse nature of our Being will cause some to say, right away, “Fuck you. I don’t want to be loving or kind.”

Any maybe they don’t.

That of course raises the question of leadership. The work, as it exists today, has fragmented itself, at least institutionally.
