Photo: The tympanum at the Cathedral in Vezelay, France, showing the astrological signs in a band surrounding the image of Christ. This tympanum is basically considered the type specimen for all gothic tympanums.

Vezelay is at the top of the must-see list of Gothic Cathedrals that still preserve essential elements of esoteric medieval iconography. During his travels through Burgundy, Hieronymus Bosch saw this and other cathedrals (for example, Autun) while they were still in good shape —they have deteriorated considerably in the last 500+ years since then.

Burgundian medieval iconography served as the cornerstone for the classic elements of Bosch’s Garden of Earthly Delights and his other great esoteric paintings.

In the past three essays in this series I’ve discussed Gurdjieff’s expository views on the question of the concentration of planetary, solar, and cosmological materials in our being. This one —tada!— is special because it includes the world’s first-ever official illustration of the Alla-Attapan. Woo hoo!

We all falsely assume we can know something about the planet and what is going on in life—the “Great Truth", if you will (which is featured in the Morning five Podcast by the same name posting on Sunday Jan. 7) by concentrating only the first kind of substances, that is, oonastralnian arisings.
