In the end, having a question in the mind alone isn’t good enough.
Thinking is like a siren that sings to us. If we want to be clear about the fact that we’re here, we need to tie ourselves to the mast of the ship – to be much more physical in our presence than any force that the mind alone can provide.
Yet the mind itself perpetually announces to us that it’s sufficient; and we listen to it.
The question of our life, our work and of how we work, can’t just be psychological. Of course, the psychology of life is important – no one is saying it isn't. But it isn’t primary; and the force of our thought attempts to convince us at every moment that it is.
