Compassion—Element 15

Of all the spiritual elements, Compassion might be said to be the most social, since, when present, it can form bonds with almost any other element. The bonds are, however; tenuous; for being gentle they are easily broken, and not all other elements are necessarily accepting of it. Some, especially the vices, reject its relationship with ease.

It must furthermore be present in quantity in order to have its beneficent effect on the molecular structure of being. It enhances the quality and transparency of crystallization and allows for the increase of harmonic resonance between substances. Love of fellow beings is impossible without compassion; and as such it is one of what are called the fundamental building-blocks of life in the multiverse. When assimilated, Compassion is bound to the root of Being; and there it exerts its wondrous properties, which cause Love and Wisdom to increase and flourish within.

The force of Compassion, however, is diluted as the energetic ladders of creation descend into the nether regions of material reality; and little of it is concentrated in the lowest of creatures such as ordinary minerals, rocks and stones. It gives rise to the emotive basis of being, and the lowest levels of The Reality are generally mechanical and so lacking in emotion that its action is minimal.

The creation of Péristānom

Compassion is most known for its ability to form covalent bonds with element 61, Suffering, when suffering is intentionally concentrated. These two elements powerfully attract Divine Element 9, Sorrow, and create the subordinate mineral péristānom which is the critical morphological variant of Cronough most necessary for the alignment of souls.
